Protect Your Memories with ColorOS 14's Picture Keeper
At OPPO, we prioritize protecting your privacy and data, especially your precious photos and videos. In ColorOS 14.0, we introduce Picture Keeper, a suite of enhanced permission controls designed to give you more granular control over how apps access your photos and videos.
Enhanced Permission Options
Ask Every Time
Previously, you could either grant or deny an app access to all your photos and videos. Picture Keeper introduces a new "Ask Every Time" option within the Permission Manager. With this enabled, you'll receive a permission prompt each time an app requests access to your photos or videos, allowing you to grant or deny access on a case-by-case basis. This provides greater flexibility and helps prevent unauthorized access.
Choose from Album
Say goodbye to the all-or-nothing approach! Picture Keeper empowers you to select specific photos or videos for an app to access. When presented with a permission request, simply choose [Choose from Album] and select the desired media. This ensures apps only access the content you explicitly authorize, safeguarding your privacy and security.
Benefits of Using the Picture Keeper
Increased Control: You decide which apps access your photos and videos, and to what extent.
Enhanced Privacy: Restrict unauthorized access and prevent apps from snooping on your entire media library.
Peace of Mind: Share photos and videos confidently, knowing you have control over their accessibility.
How to Enable the Picture Keeper
Open the [Settings] app on your OPPO device running ColorOS 14.0 or later.
Navigate to [Security & Privacy] > [Privacy] > [Permissions manager].
Select [Photos & videos].
Choose between [Ask every time] or [Choose from Album] based on your preference.
Notes:
Picture Keeper requires your device to be running Android 13 or above.
Please ensure apps are updated to be compatible with Android 13 to function properly with Picture Keeper.
