OPPO Music Party: How to Use and Share Music

Get the party started the perfect way with OPPO's Music Party app, the way to share good times and great tunes with everyone. This feature lets you connect multiple phones to play the same music synchronously. You can host your own party using your playlist or join a friend's session and vibe to their music.


Note: Available only for ColorOS 6.0 and above. Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].

  • The OPPO Music Party app varies per country/ region and may also vary per phone model. Please refer to the actual product.


How to Create a Party

There are two ways to create a party and synchronize phones to play the same song on OPPO's Music Party:

  1. Connect via *Hotspot. Open the [Music Party] app on your home screen, then tap [Create a Party] > [Connect via Personal Hotspot], and a QR code will show. Invite your friends and scan the QR code to join the party, then tap [Complete] / [Done].

  2. Connect via Wi-Fi. Open the [Music Party] app on your home screen, then tap [Create a Party] > [Connect to a Wi-Fi] > input the password when asked, tap [Next], then a QR code will show. Your friends can scan the QR code to join the party, then tap [Complete] / [Done].

How to Join a Party

If you want to join the party and listen to the music playlist of your friend, open your [Music Party] app from the home screen, tap [Join a Party], scan the QR code, sit back, relax and enjoy the music party.

How to Manage Your Playlist

If you want to add or remove a song from your playlist, tap the [3-dots] icon at the top right and tap [Manage playlist] then select the music you want to add or remove.


For ColorOS 12 and above:

  • To add a song: Tap the [+] button > select the songs you want to add and tap [Add items].

  • To remove a song: Tap the [3-dotted] icon > [Edit] and select the songs you want to remove and tap [Remove].


How to Exit a Party

If you want to exit a party, open the Music Party app from your home screen, then tap the [3-dots icon] at the top right, and tap [Exit party].


For ColorOS 12 and above

Tap the arrow next to the party's name at the upper left corner and tap [Exit party]. Alternatively, tap the [Return] button and tap [Exit party].


How to Check the Devices Connected to Your Party

On your Music Party app screen, tap [OPPO Music Party Clip icon] and you will see all the devices connected.

  • For ColorOS 12 and above: On the Music Party app screen, tap the [3-dots] icon > [Participants] and check the devices connected under PARTICIPANTS' DEVICES.

Notes:

  • You will have to allow your OPPO smartphone to have the necessary permission for the Music Party app if it's your first time using this application.

  • Please note that you should be connected to the same Wi-Fi or Hotspot to join the party.

  • The farthest distance depends on the range of the Wi-Fi or Hotspot signal.


* When connecting via Personal Hotspot, your connection will be shared. To avoid consuming more data and power, if no device is connected, the function will turn off automatically.
* To practice social distancing, screenshot your QR code and send it online. 

* Pictures, settings, and paths might differ from those of your phones, but these won't affect the description in this article.
