If You Fail to Back up or Restore Data with HeyTap Cloud/OPPO Cloud
In some instances, HeyTap/ OPPO cloud backup or restore data keeps failing, and you can't figure why. Not being able to back up your data or retrieve it can be frustrating, but it's no reason to panic. More often than not, the network is not strong enough to complete the backup or your OPPO cloud storage has run out of storage space. In this guide, you will learn the possible cause of cloud backup and restore failure and the troubleshooting steps that can be done.
Applicable to: ColorOS 3.0 and above devices. Some services may require ColorOS 5.0 and above, please check directly on your phone. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone].
*HeyTap Cloud/OPPO Cloud are terms that can be used interchangeably.
Below are the troubleshooting steps to perform if you receive an error while doing a backup to OPPO Cloud or restoring data from a backup.
Check your Internet connectivity
Make sure your phone is connected to the network and able to access the Internet. It is recommended to use Wi-Fi for fast and stable connection. Try using an Internet browser to connect to any website and see if it loads. If it does not, change to another network or contact your Internet provider for help.
Re-login to HeyTap/ OPPO Cloud
Tap your account name on the top left, and tap [Sign Out] > [Exit], and enter your HeyTap account password to confirm. Then, log back in with the same OPPO account and see if you can backup or restore data with HeyTap/ OPPOCloud.
Clear data for the HeyTap/ OPPO Cloud app
For ColorOS 7.0 and above. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] > [HeyTap Cloud/ OPPO Cloud] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 6.1. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [HeyTap Cloud/ OPPO Cloud] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 3.1 and ColorOS 3.2. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [All] > [HeyTap Cloud/ OPPO Cloud] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 3.0. Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Application Management] > [All] > [HeyTap Cloud/ OPPO Cloud] > [Clear Data].
Update the phone software version and restart
Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] to check for and update to the latest version. When the update is complete, restart the phone
If the above steps did not resolve the issue, kindly contact OPPO Support Team, or take your phone, proof of purchase, and warranty card to a nearby OPPO Customer Service Center to get your phone working the way it should again.
