How to Change OPPO Phone's Theme and Lock Screen Wallpaper
Changing your OPPO phone's wallpaper and theme is another way of expressing yourself and your style. Aside from downloading and taking photos of your preferred wallpaper, you can also download and choose from OPPO's wide variety of backgrounds and themes. To download and set a new wallpaper for your OPPO phone, continue reading the simple guide we created below.
Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].
How to Change Wallpaper
Wallpaper is the background design on your lock screen or home screen.
For ColorOS 16 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Home screen, Lock screen & style] > [Wallpapers] and choose a wallpaper you like and tap [Apply] to set it as your [Lock screen] or [Home screen wallpaper], or add it to [Carousel wallpapers].
For ColorOS 15: Go to [Settings] > [Wallpapers & style] > [Wallpapers], select an image you like, and tap [Apply] to set it as a [Lock screen wallpaper], [Home screen wallpaper], or [Carousel wallpaper].
For ColorOS 13 to ColorOS 14: Go to [Settings] > [Wallpapers & Style] > [Wallpapers] > then choose [Static wallpaper], [Live wallpapers], or your [Photos].
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 12: Go to [Settings] > [Personalizations] > [Wallpapers] > then choose [Static wallpaper] or [Live wallpapers].
For ColorOS 6.1 to ColorOS 7.2: Go to [Settings] > [Home Screen & Lock Screen Magazine] > [Set Wallpaper] > then choose if you want *[Static Wallpaper] or [Live Wallpaper] or your [Photos].
* Static Wallpaper means not moving background, while Live Wallpaper is a moving, animated and interactive background.
* For ColorOS 7.2 and above devices, it has an additional Gravity Wallpaper, which can change dynamically, depending on how you hold the device.
* The availability of Live Wallpaper varies depending on the phone model. Not all ColorOS 6.1 and above devices have this feature. Check directly in your phone settings.
Note: You can quickly change your wallpaper by pressing and holding your fingers while on the home screen. (For ColorOS 6.1 and above only).
How to Use My Photos as Wallpaper
For ColorOS 15 to ColorOS 16: Go to [Photos] and open a photo you like. Tap the [three-dotted] icon > [Set as wallpaper], and set it as your Lock screen or Home screen wallpaper. On the wallpaper editing page, you can perform operations such as blurring the image. After the editing is done, tap [Apply].
For ColorOS 13 to ColorOS 14: Go to [Settings] > [Wallpapers & style] > [Wallpapers] and tap the [Album] icon on the upper-right corner > choose a photo and tap [Apply]. Choose whether you like to set it as [Lock screen], [Home screen], or [Home & Lock screen].
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 12: Go to [Settings] > [Personalizations] > [Wallpapers] > [Local albums] / [Album] and choose a photo, then tap [Apply]. Choose whether you like to set it as [Lock screen], [Home screen], or [Home & Lock screen].
For ColorOS 6.1 to ColorOS 7.1: Go to [Settings] > [Home Screen & Lock Screen Magazine] > [Set Wallpaper] > [Photos] and choose a photo. Then, tap [Set as] and choose from the option [Set as Lock screen wallpapers], [Set as Home screen wallpaper], or [Set as both]. You can also choose [More wallpaper] to check other available wallpapers.
If you choose your Photos, then you can adjust the size or position to fit on the screen. Depending on the ColorOS version of your device, you have the option to:
Scroll with the Home Screen.
Set as Lockscreen Wallpaper.
Set as Homescreen Wallpaper.
Set as *both Lockscreen and Homescreen Wallpaper.
Note: *The availability of this feature varies per ColorOS version.
Download Online Wallpapers
On your home screen, tap [Theme Store] > [Wallpaper] > select a Wallpaper, then tap on either *[Download] or [Apply].
* You need an Internet connection for this to work, and some ColorOS versions can let you go directly to the Theme Store while at the Wallpaper Setting page.
* The Settings path name may vary per ColorOS version or OPPO Phone model.
How to Change OPPO Phone's Theme
A phone theme refers to the general look and feel of the phone’s user interface. It changes color schemes for background images, icons, and more. The entire phone’s functions will not be affected. There are two ways you can do it:
Through Settings:
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Personalizations] / [Wallpapers & style] > [ My Themes] > then choose the theme that you want.
* You can either buy or download a theme for a trial version on the Theme Store app.
For ColorOS 6.1 to ColorOS 7: Go to [Settings] > [Home Screen & Lock Screen Magazine] > [Set theme] > then choose the theme that you want, tap on [Download] > [Apply].
Through the Theme Store app:
On your home screen, tap on [Theme Store] > [Themes] > select a theme you want, then tap [Download] > [Apply] / [Free Trial] / [Buy].
Search for a Theme
While in the Theme Store App, look for the Search Bar, then type in the keyword of the theme you want to check, then tap [Search]. An array of choices will be shown.
Additional information:
You need an Internet connection for this to work, and some ColorOS versions can let you go directly to the Theme Store while at the theme setting page.
Some themes may need to be bought. If the free one is not showing, just type in the search bar "Free Themes".
Manage your downloaded themes and wallpapers
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Personalizations] / [Wallpapers & style] > [My Themes] > then choose the theme that you want, tap on [Apply] / [Free trial] / [Buy].
For ColorOS 5.2 to 7: On your home screen, tap on [Theme Store] > [Me] > [Downloads].
* Pictures, settings, and paths might differ from those of your phone, but these won't affect the description in this article.
