Getting Virus Prompts when using Third-party Applications


Have you downloaded a third-party app and noticed that you are receiving suspicious information or virus prompts? We can suspect that the third-party application has caused this and recommend following these steps on how to remove this from your OPPO Phone.


Applicable to: All OPPO Smartphones.


If your phone gets prompt of virus when downloading, opening, or using some third-party applications, it may because you have downloaded this application in some non-official channels.

Delete the correspondent file

To protect your phone from viruses, you can delete the correspondent files according to the prompt and cancel the prompt.

Clear data and cache of the application

To check your ColorOS version, click here for the guide.

For ColorOS 7.0 and above. Go to  [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] >  Tap the 2-dots icon  in the upper right corner > [Show System] >  Find the app which has caused the virus prompt > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].

For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 6.1. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Process] > Find the app which has caused the virus prompt > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].

For ColorOS 3.1 and ColorOS 3.2. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [All] > Find the app which has caused the virus prompt > [Clear Data].

For ColorOS 3.0. Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Application Management] > [All] >  Find the app which has caused the virus prompt > [Clear Data].

Reinstall the application

If a prompt still comes to you, you can uninstall the application and download it again on Google Playstore. To uninstall the application, go to [Play Store], swipe right from the left side of the screen. Tap [My apps & games] >  [INSTALLED]. Tap the required app > [UNINSTALL] > [OK].
