Detection Guide for Sensors

Proximity Sensor

Function introduction:A proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. When the target is within nominal range, the device lock screen user interface will appear, thus emerging from what is known as sleep mode. Once the device has awoken from sleep mode, if the proximity sensor's target is still for an extended period of time, the sensor will then ignore it, and the device will eventually revert into sleep mode. For example, during a telephone call, proximity sensors play a role in detecting (and skipping) accidental touchscreen taps when mobiles are held to the ear. The black hole on the left/right side of the receiver is the proximity sensor.
Detection guide:
1. Input *#899# to enter the enter in the Engineer Mode——Manual Test—Device Debugging—Proximity Sensor Test—Proximity Sensor Test(100mA/150mA);
2. Cover the light sensor hole (Upper right side) with the palm. If the sensor is sound, the screen will turn green from black and it will shows “PASS”.

Light Sensor

Function introduction:It is a photo detector that is used to sense the amount of ambient light present, and appropriately dim the device's screen to match it. This avoids having the screen be too bright when the user's pupils are adapted for vision in a dark room, or too dim when the device is used outdoors in the daytime. Dimming the screen on a mobile device also prolongs the lifetime of the battery.
Detection guide:
1)    Input *#899# to enter the Engineer Mode——Manual Test—Device Debugging——Light Sensor——Cover the location near the front camera with the palm, and observe the value after removing the palm. If the value changes, the light sensor is sound.

G sensor(Accelerometer)

Function introduction:An accelerometer is a device that measures proper acceleration. Proper acceleration, being the acceleration (or rate of change of velocity) of a body in its own instantaneous rest frame, is not the same as coordinate acceleration, being the acceleration in a fixed coordinate system.
Detection guide:
Input *#899# to enter the Engineer Mode——Manual Test—Device Debugging——G Sensor——Rotate the phone along the X, Y and Z axis; If the interface shows “PASS”, the sensor is sound.

Gyroscope

Function introduction:A gyroscope is a device for measuring or maintaining orientation, based on the principle of conservation of angular momentum.
Detection guide:
Input *#899# to enter the Engineer Mode——Manual Test—Device Debugging——Gyroscope Test—After entering the test, draw the "8"
