Change Default Audio Recorder

 

Situation: You want to change your default audio recording device.

Applicable to: ColorOS 7 and above. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone].

 

Now you can record any audio through any external recording device attached to your phone such as earphones/ headphones with inbuilt mic, external microphones, etc. This will allow you to record audio in sound recorder, recording videos, or any third-party audio or video recording app.

 

Default Audio Recorder

Go to [Settings] > [Sound & Vibration] > [Default Audio Recorder] > Choose [Add-on]. After selecting Add-on, the device will start recording audio from external mic attached to your phone.
