Q. What is the implementation principle of BeaconLink?
A: BeaconLink is an Function that allows you to communicate with people nearby without relying on Internet connection and mobile signal.
Q. Will the BeaconLink function charge users fees?
A. BeaconLink does not charge any fees. When there is no signal, you can use offline chat to talk to people nearby for free.
Q. What is the distance limit BeaconLink?
A. In the underground garage scene, the call distance can be up to 200m in line of sight without obstruction, and up to 80m in non-line of sight.
In mountainous scenes, the call distance can reach up to 120m, and the non-line-of-sight range can reach up to 35m.
The call distance in the music festival scene can reach up to 30m or more.
Q. Does the feature work on any specific ColorOS version?
A. Yes, the BeaconLink feature is compatible with the devices that are running on ColorOS 14.1.
Q. Can we use the feature with any smartphone?
A. BeaconLink only supports the establishment of communication between OPPO and OnePlus mobile phones and does not support mobile phones of other brands.
Q. Are networks required to make calls while using BeaconLink?
A. You can make a voice call without networks within a certain distance limit.
Q. Is it mandatory to have the same model of devices to use the feature?
A. BeaconLink can be used with any OPPO and OnePlus device running on ColorOS 14.1
Q. Is it mandatory to have a SIM card in the device to use BeaconLink?
A. No, it is not mandatory to have a SIM card installed.
Q. How to enable BeaconLink?
A. Settings>Mobile network>BeaconLink (on)>Set the display name>Set the people who can be called>Select the contact and then make a call.
Q. Can we make a conference call using BeaconLink?
A. No, It doesn't support multi-way calls.
Q. Do I have to log in before using the BeaconLink feature?
A. When using this function for the first time, you and the other party’s mobile phone need to log in to the account in an environment with a network to activate it, and follow the prompts to turn on the “BeaconLink” function.
