Battery Safety
OPPO smartphones utilize Lithium-ion batteries, which provide lightweight, high-energy-density power sources for devices. They also offer good plasticity and are considered the safest option. We rely on Lithium-ion batteries to ensure the superior performance of OPPO smartphones.
Use OPPO original accessories
The lithium-ion battery is a smart battery that might not be fully charged, or its maximum lifespan cannot be reached with an unoriginal charger. (This includes the Power adapter and USB Cable.)
Use at a suitable temperature
OPPO smartphone battery is designed to have a good performance in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 16° C to 25° C (61° F to 77° F) as the ideal comfort zone. High temperatures during charging may lead to battery degradation, and charging at temperatures above 40 °C will degrade battery performance. In contrast, at lower temperatures, the internal resistance of the battery may increase, resulting in slower charging and, thus, longer charging times. When using your device in a very cold environment, you may notice a decrease in battery life, but this condition is temporary. Once the battery's temperature returns to its normal operating range, its performance will return to normal as well.
Note: To avoid battery damage, OPPO smartphone will automatically stop charging or using at extreme ambient temperatures, and alerts you "Temperature is too low/high, the battery cannot be charged", "Temperature is too low/high, the battery cannot be fully charged".
Do not use when charging
If you operate your phone a lot during charging, it might quickly get warm or even cause damage. Charge the battery whenever you want. It is not suggested to let it discharge 100% before recharging.
Do not fully discharge your phone's battery
Charge your phone when the battery level drops to 10%. If the phone's battery is fully discharged, it could fall into a deep discharge state, which could cause it to be slightly damaged.
Store the phone long term
If you plan to store the phone for a long time, charge it to 60% or above every month.
External environment
Avoid exposing your phone battery to high or low temperature, humid environment, or sun exposure.
Charger Usage Notes
Only use the charger specified by OPPO.
The charging voltage should be consistent with that specified on the charger. Using mismatched voltage might cause leakage, fire, and damage.
Do not use a power socket that is incompatible with the charger. Make sure the charger is plugged in firmly to avoid any fire hazard.
Do not charge your phone with a partially damaged charger, as this could result in electric shock, fire, or other damage.
Do not charge your phone near washbasins or other water containers or in wet locations such as bathrooms. Take care not to spill any food or liquid on your phone or charger. Do not touch chargers, cables, or power sockets with wet hands. In case the charger gets wet, unplug all cables and allow it to dry thoroughly before charging again.
Do not disassemble or modify the charger or cables yourself.
Do not place heavy objects on the charger, for that might cause electric shock and fire.
Before cleaning the charger, unplug all cables (hold and pull the plug instead of pulling the cable. Otherwise, the cable will be ripped off).
Do not charge your phone when there is lightning or a thunderstorm, and do not make phone calls while charging.
Avoid exposing your charger to the following conditions: direct sunlight, temperatures lower than 5° C or higher than 40° C, damp and dusty places or those with excessive vibrations (which might cause breakdowns), and places near electrical appliances such as TV and radio sets (which might interfere with images and sound).
