Why Does the Camera Closes Automatically if Not Used for a while?

Situation: The camera exits automatically after a while when not operated.

Applicable to: All OPPO smartphones.

If the camera is kept idle or unused for a certain period of time, it will enter the power save mode and automatically turned off. This is to prevent wearing down the battery.

The maximum idle time may differ depending on the ColorOS version:

  • For phone models based on ColorOS 6.0 and above, the camera will exit if not used for 2 minutes.

  • For phone models based on ColorOS 5.2 and before, the camera will exit after 5 minutes.

Note: Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone].

However, if the camera closes unexpectedly within a few seconds, contact OPPO Support Team or take your phone to a nearby OPPO Customer Service Center.
