What's New in ColorOS 5.0 Photos?
With ColorOS 5.0, the Photos app got the exciting and long-anticipated updates. Here are some of the ones you may find most useful.
Applicable to: ColorOS 5.0 devices. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About phone].
Memories
Using the on-device facial recognition and AI detection of what's in your images, your phone can combine photos into themed mini-movies complete with transitions and a soundtrack. It can recognize and bundle together photos the feature certain people, or scenes like hiking or being on the beach, and categorize your photos while your phone is plugged and locked. See Memories.
People
In the Photos app, there's an album called "People." Much like "Memories", it uses facial technology to identify the people in the pictures or combine identifications, then group pictures of the same people together. See People.
Optimized album management
In addition to the frequently used social apps, images downloaded from third-party apps will be saved in Rarely-used Album. You can move other albums into Rarely-used Album by tapping [Select] > [Set as rarely-used].
Your photos will be arranged into sequential order by modification of time. In other words, once an old photo or video has been modified, it will be saved as the latest photo or video.
Photos downloaded from spam applications will be controlled by phone's blacklist feature and will not be displayed in albums.
