What is Phonetic Name on Google Contacts and how to Hide it?

Some names are really hard to pronounce, while some are just too obvious. Google Assistants can sometimes be frustrating when you are sending your message to a friend or family using your voice. Phonetic name on Google Contact can help you with pronouncing your contacts' name if you put it with how you want it to pronounce or how the way it sounds. Or if you want to leave their names as it is, and hide the phonetic names in your contacts, you can follow the steps below.

Hide the phonetic names

1. Open the [Contacts] application. 

2. At the top right corner, tap the [Profile].

3. Then tap [Contacts settings].

4. Under the Edit contacts, tap [Phonetic name].

5. Choose if you want it to "Always show" or "Hide if empty"
