What are the Types of SIM Cards OPPO Phone Support
Apart from the recently released e-SIM, most OPPO smartphones use a SIM card to allow users to make phone calls, text messages, and mobile data. Without the SIM card, many of the smartphone functions are not usable. In this article, you will learn about SIM cards and how to set up and use them. This guide can also be used for our older OPPO phone models like the A73, F1s, A57, and other phones. For more in-depth information on how to change the SIM PIN or dual-SIM function, you can refer to our other helpful guides. Read on to learn the different types of SIM cards OPPO phone supports.

Types of SIM cards
Did you know that a SIM card, short for Subscriber Identity Module, is a small card inserted into GSM digital mobile phones to enable their normal functioning? Apart from identifying the user, SIM cards also can store contacts and messages. The storage capacity available depends on the card's size, but typically, a 32K capacity SIM card can store up to 250 contacts and 50 messages.
SIM cards sizes:
Standard SIM: 25mm×15mm×0.8mm
Micro SIM(Mini-SIM): 12mmx15mm×0.8mm
Nano SIM: 12.3mm×8.8mm×0.7mm
Insert and remove SIM card
Using the ejector tool that comes in the box of your OPPO phone, pull out the card tray and place the SIM card on it as per instructions.
Insert the card tray completely in the same orientation you removed it. It will only fit in one way.
* Keep the card tray face up to see the SIM card placed firmly. Insert horizontally to avoid tray damage or loose SIM cards.
Reminders
If your SIM card size doesn't fit the slot, change your SIM card with your telecom operator. Don't cut your SIM card alone, or your card may get damaged.
Do not install or remove the SIM card when the phone is on; otherwise, your SIM card may be damaged.
When the SIM card is inserted for the first time, the "E-Warranty Card" registration page will pop out.
Dual SIM and dual standby
If your OPPO phone supports a dual SIM feature, you can insert the more commonly used card on SIM1. Both will be on standby after the two SIM cards are successfully installed.
* Generally, SIM1, SIM2, and TF/SD cards share the same card slot. Actual conditions are subject to real devices.
General settings

SIM info & settings
Tap and enable the [SIM] card you have inserted to get the phone ready for normal use. Next, you can freely edit your SIM card name and SIM card number and view and change "Network Settings," including Data Roaming, Preferred Network Type, VoLTE Calling, Access point name, and Carrier.
Data roaming can only be used under mobile data connection and may charge high fees for roaming services.
The preferred network type (4G/3G/2G) will be automatically obtained via SIM card. You can also change it manually.
An APN (Access Point Name) is an identification that a mobile device must present to the operators when making a data connection. If you cannot use mobile data, you can try to update your APN under Wi-Fi: Go to [Settings] > [Dual SIM & Cellular Data] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data] / [Dual SIM & Cellular] / [Mobile network] > select a SIM you want to modify > [Access point names] and tap the [i] icon on the APN you want to modify. After modifying the APN, tap the check icon/ [Save] icon to finalize everything.
Usually, the carrier information is automatically obtained via SIM card.
* Get help if phone calls cannot be made or answered or the phone has no service after the SIM card is successfully inserted and enabled.

After successfully inserting two SIM cards, you can edit and set up SIM1 and SIM2, respectively.
Go to [Settings] > [Dual SIM & Cellular] / [Dual SIM and mobile network] / [SIM card & mobile data] / [Mobile network].
