LCD
LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. It is made up of liquid crystals and is unable to produce light. It gets illuminated by a backlight.

TFT LCD uses Thin Film Transistor technology that improves image quality.
IPS-LCD stands for In-Place Switching, which has a wide viewing angle and consumes less power.
OLED
OLED or Organic Light Emitting Diode produces its light and so doesn't require a backlight, cutting down on energy requirements. And yeah, more expensive to produce compared to LCD.
AMOLED
AMOLED or Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode is an advanced version of OLED with an additional layer of Thin Film Transmitter which, improves image quality. It has no restrictions on size.
Note: Some displays like Super AMOLED and Retina Display are terms given by some Smartphone brands.
