Things to do Before Selling Your OPPO Phone
Are you selling your old device so you can update to a newer one, but don't know what to do with it before giving it away? Or you are looking to sell or exchange your OPPO phone or thinking of passing it to your sibling, friend, or family member. Your device contains your important data and before handing over it to someone else we should properly take back up of our data and reset the device so we can have our data in our new phone and the new user cannot access our data. Backup Everything
Make sure to create a complete backup of your phones, including your photos, videos, audio, documents, messages, contacts, and more. You can use backup platforms such as Google Photos to back up all your photos to your Google Account, Google Contacts for all of your contacts, and Google Drive for documents and other files.
Make sure that all of your data has been recently backed up. You can go to [Settings] > Click on [User and Account/Accounts & Sync] > Select [Google Account] > [Select everything you want to be backed up] > Tap on [2 Dots/3 Dots] > Tap on [Sync now].
You can also transfer your data such as photos, videos, music, and documents to your SD Card.
Backup Wi-Fi Passwords and Other Device Settings
For ColorOS 14 and Above:
Go to [Settings] > Click on [System & updates] > Click on [Back up & reset] > Tap on [Back up & migrate] > Click on [Local backup] > Click on [New backup] > Select all the required options > Tap on [Start].
For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13:
Go to [Settings] > Click on [Additional Settings/System settings] > Click on [Back up & reset] > Tap on [Back up & migrate] > Click on [Local back up] > Click on [New Back up] > Select all the required options > Tap on [Start].
For ColorOS 7 and 11:
Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Backup & Reset] > Enable [Backup my Data].
Remove Google Account
Your phone comes with Factory Reset Protection (FRP) which is a feature introduced by Google. In case your phone is stolen, and the thief does a factory reset on it, so whenever the device boots, it will ask for the Google Account that was previously logged in to your device. Without that, your phone will be unusable. So make sure that FRP is disabled. To disable FRP, go to [Settings] > Click on [User and Account/Accounts & Sync] > Select [Google Account] > Tap on [2 Dots/3 Dots] > Click on [Remove Account]
Note: Make sure to backup everything before removing your Google Account.
