Here's a no-sweat guide to taking selfies and groufies (group pictures) and not being left out. Just show your palm. Yes, wave.
1, 2, smile, wave palm. Done. Easy, right?
How to use a hand gesture to take pictures
For ColorOS 12: Open the [Camera] app and tap the camera icon to flip to the front camera > [
Settings] icon > [Shooting methods] and turn on [Show palm].
For some ColorOS 12 and ColorOS 13: Open the [Camera] app and tap the camera icon to flip to the front camera and tap the [3-dotted] icon > [Settings] > [Shooting methods] and turn on [Show palm].
For ColorOS 11.3: Open the [Camera] app and tap the camera icon to change to flip to the front camera. Then, tap the [
Settings] icon > [Shooting methods] and turn on [Show palm].
For ColorOS 7.2: Go to the [Camera] app and tap the [Camera] icon at the lower right to change to the front camera. Tap the [
Menu] icon and tap [Settings] and turn on [Use Gestures to Take Photo].
For ColorOS 6.0: Go to the [Camera] app and change to the front camera > [Settings] and turn on [Gesture to Take Photo].
For ColorOS 5.0 and below: Open the [Camera] app, switch to the front camera and tap the [Circle] icon at the top, then select [Palm]. Then, you can use the gesture to take a photo.
Now try taking a photo using the front camera. While looking at the front camera lens, raise your palm to trigger the shot. A countdown will start, giving you time to position yourself, before the photo is taken.
