How to Backup Contacts
[Settings] > [Google] > [Backup] > Enable [Back up your device] > [Other device data] > [Confirm]. This will back your contacts to Google. Tap your device name to check when was the last time the contacts got backed up.
Note: You can also turn on Automatically back up and sync device contacts. This will make contacts backup for the future.
Open [Google Contacts] > [profile] > [Contacts Settings] > [Google Contacts Sync Settings] > [Back up and sync/ Also sync device contacts].
Note: Contacts stored on SIM card storage won't be backed up.
