How to Use OPPO Phone's Smart Assistant

Applicable to: ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 7.2 devices only. ColorOS 11 and above devices have replaced Smart Assistant with Google Assistant. Check directly on your phone in [Settings] > [Smart Services]. To check your ColorOS version, go to [Settings] > [About phone] / [About device].

Note: After the OPPO communication suite is replaced with the Google communication suite, Smart Assistant is replaced with Google Assistant. The Smart Assistant varies per OPPO phone model. 


Smart Assistant on an OPPO phone

You can enable the Smart Assistant on your OPPO phone per ColorOS versions. Check your ColorOS version through [Settings] > [About phone] / [About device].

  • For ColorOS 6.0 to 7.2: Go to [Settings] > [Smart Services] > toggle [Smart Assistant] to enable. 

  • For ColorOS 5.0 to 5.2: Go to [Settings] > [Smart & Convenient] and turn on [Smart Assistant]. Or swipe right from the left edge of the home screen (In Arabic, swipe left from the right edge of the home screen), then tap [Turn on Smart Assistant].

Customize Smart Assistant widgets

Scroll to the bottom of the Smart Assistant screen, then tap [Edit]. Tap or add or remove widgets. To arrange the order of your information, touch and hold, then drag to a new position. 


Information you can get from Smart Assistant

  • Quick Functions: Provides you with quick access to apps.

    • For ColorOS 7.0 - 7.1: On your home screen, swipe right from the left edge of the home screen and tap the [OPPO Smart Assistant Two Dots Icon two-dots] icon in Quick Functions > [Settings] > [Add from Apps] > choose the desired app. 

    • For ColorOS 5.0 - 6.1: To add apps in Quick Functions, swipe right from the left edge of the home screen, tap the [+] icon in Quick Functions > [Add More Apps], then choose an app. You can open the app directly by tapping its icon on the Smart Assistant. 


OPPO Smart Assistant


  • Weather: Provides you with the weather conditions of your current location.

  • Steps Tracker: Keeps track of your daily steps and distance covered.

  • Events: Keep track of all your events in the Calendar app.

  • Favorite Contacts: Lists 10 favorite contacts in your address book and lets you make a call with one tap. Tap Smart Assistant Plus Icon, then choose a contact. Tap the head portrait to call the person.
