How to Fix Trouble Using Google Pay in Stores with OPPO Watch
Google Pay offers a faster and more convenient payment method for its users, eliminating the need to share their credit or debit card details whenever they make a purchase. This system provides peace of mind by sending a virtual account number instead. However, there may be instances where you encounter issues when using Google Pay on your OPPO Watch at certain shops. If you face such issues, check the guide below for helpful tips.
Google Pay/Google Wallet is not working
There are various reasons why the Google Pay/Google Wallet on your OPPO Watch fails to complete a transaction. It could be because of an unstable internet connection or faulty NFC sensors from the merchant or your watch.
Before doing the following steps, please make sure that your OPPO Watch is turned on and unlocked:
Wake up your watch by tapping the screen.
See if Google Pay/Google Wallet asked you to unlock your OPPO Watch. If so, unlock it before paying.
Make sure the Google Pay/Google Wallet app is open.
Hold your watch at the payment machine until it beeps and your watch vibrates.
You can also try holding your watch against the payment machine in various positions. This helps because your OPPO Watch communicates with the payment machine using NFC (Near Field Communication), and most watches’ NFC sensor is behind the screen. But to be sure, double-check your device’s manual for the exact location.
Ensure that the store you’re trying to transact with offers a contactless payment.
Make sure that your OPPO Watch is connected to a stable internet connection.
Update your OPPO Watch to the latest system version
Keeping your OPPO Watch up-to-date will lower the risk of it facing issues caused by outdated files and software. Ensure that you make it a habit to regularly check for software updates on both your OPPO smartphone and OPPO Watch. Factory reset your OPPO Watch
Factory resetting your OPPO Watch will return it to its original system state. Doing this will delete all the information stored on your watch, including the files that might be causing the said issue. See What Happens When You Factory Reset Your OPPO Watch.
Go to your OPPO Watch's [Control Center] by swiping up from the watch face > tap on the [Settings] > go to the [System] > tap on the [Disconnect & reset] > tap on the check icon to proceed.
If this doesn't solve the issue
If you've already performed the previous steps, but the issue persists, a hardware problem might be causing the issue. Prepare your warranty card and contact your nearest OPPO Customer Service. You can also contact OPPO Support so we can help and assist you further. Depending on your region, you may check if you need to book an appointment before visiting your local Service Center.
