How to Enable OTG Functionality on OPPO Phones
If you have files, photos, videos, or documents stored on a USB device and want to access them on your OPPO phone, you can use a feature called OTG (On-The-Go). OTG allows your phone to connect directly to USB storage devices, making it possible to view, copy, or move files without needing a computer. With a compatible OTG cable and your OPPO phone, you can easily transfer content into your preferred folders using the File Manager app. This guide explains how OTG works and how to use it safely to manage your files.
Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].
When not in use, the On-The-Go or OTG connection will turn off in 10 minutes.
Not all OPPO phones have the OTG connection feature. This feature is based on your device's hardware. You may check directly on your OPPO device if your phone supports it.
What is the OTG connection
OTG or On-The-Go is a specification that allows USB devices, such as tablets or smartphones, to act as a host, allowing other USB devices, such as USB flash drives, digital cameras, microphones, computer mouse, or keyboards, to be attached to them.
How to enable OTG connection
For ColorOS 15 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Accessibility & convenience] > and toggle to enable the [OTG Connection].
For ColorOS 13 to ColorOS 14: Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > and toggle to enable the [OTG Connection].
For ColorOS 12: Go to [Settings] > [System Settings] > and toggle to enable the [OTG connection].
For ColorOS 3.0 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] and toggle to enable the [OTG connection].
Transfer files using OTG
Enable OTG Connection on your OPPO phone through the above path. If the OTG connection is grayed out, the OTG connection is already enabled.
Insert a compatible OTG drive on your OPPO phone. After inserting the OTG, insert the USB flash drive into the OTG drive and allow the *permissions that appear on your screen.
Tap [OTG]. You will see all the folders from your USB flash drive and then tap the file you wish to transfer.
Tap and hold the file and tap [Copy] or [Move]. Then select a folder where you want to move the file.
Tap [Phone storage] or to a folder where you want to move it, then tap a folder under it and tap [Move to here].
If an SD card is inserted into your phone, you may move the file to a folder on your SD card and tap [Move to here].
Note: You need to allow permissions for the first time inserting the OTG drive.
