How to Check if Your Phone Has the Latest Software Version
Keeping your phone’s software up to date is essential for maintaining security, performance, and access to the latest features. OPPO regularly releases software updates that may include bug fixes, system enhancements, and new tools designed to improve your overall device experience. If you’re unsure whether your OPPO smartphone is running the most current version, this guide will walk you through the steps to check your software status using your phone’s built-in settings. No technical knowledge is required—just follow along to ensure your device is up to date.
Check the current software version
Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] / [System Updates] /[System & updates]. The system will automatically show new updates, if any. You can see a notification on the "Software Updates" icon. Otherwise, it will show "It is already the latest version."
Check software updates
Your OPPO phone will receive a notification regarding the software update if it supports the update. Optionally, you may also check the update in the following paths:
For ColorOS 12 and above: Go to your phone's [Settings] > [About device] > Click on the top card to update your OPPO phone's software
For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 11.3: You can manually check it by going to [Settings] > [Software Update] / [System Update].
What if my phone did not get a notification for a software update
If your OPPO phone doesn’t show an update notification, don’t worry, updates are released in stages. This rollout process allows OPPO to test the update across different models and regions before a wider release.
Why updates might not appear immediately:
Your device model may be scheduled for a later rollout.
The update may still be in the testing phase for your region.
