How to Blacklist a Contact and Block Numbers on OPPO Phone

When receiving multiple calls from an unknown individual or company, can be disruptive to your daily phone usage. Here is a way to block a caller ID in your OPPO smartphone that would recognize the blacklisted number and automatically reject calls from them. It's an easy tool to keep those unwanted callers out of mind and lets you continue enjoying your OPPO phone! Read on!


Applicable to: ColorOS 3.0 and above device. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About phone].

Block calls

The Block calls feature helps you to prevent unwanted phone calls from reaching you.

  • ForColorOS 7.0 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Block & Filter] > [Block Calls]. Alternatively, go to the [Phone] app > tap the 2-dots icon in the upper right corner > [Block & Filter] > [Blocked Calls] > tap the 2-dots icon in the upper right corner > [Set Rules] > [Block Calls].

  • ForColorOS 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [System Apps] > [Call] > [Block & Filter] > [Call Blocking]. Alternatively, go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Block & Filter] > [Call Blocking].

  • ForColorOS 5.1 to 6.0: Go to [Settings] > [System Apps] > [Call] > [Block] > [Call Blocking]. Alternatively, go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Anti-harassment/Fraud] > [Call Blocking].

  • ForColorOS 5.0: Go to [Settings] > [Call] > [Block] > [Block Calls]. Alternatively, go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Anti-harassment/Fraud] > [Block Calls].

  • ForColorOS 3.2: Go to [Settings] > [Call] > [Block] > [Block Calls]. Alternatively, go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Anti-harassment/Fraud] > [Block Calls].

  • ForColorOS 3.1: Go to [Settings] > [Call] > [Block] > [Block Calls]. Alternatively, go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Block] > [Block Calls].

  • ForColorOS 3.0: Go to [Settings] > [Call] > [Block].

OPPO Block Calls

Rules available for blocking incoming calls: 

  • Block All Calls:You won't receive calls anymore unless there are calls from VIP contacts or white-listed numbers.

  • Block All Calls from Unknown Numbers:The unknown number refers to an unsaved real phone number. Please be aware that when you turn this function on, you might miss some important phone calls from new numbers.

  • Block Unknown Numbers by Region:You can block numbers from specific locations.

  • Block One-Ring Calls: This ONLY applies to unknown numbers.

  • Block Calls from Hidden Numbers:You can block calls made from private numbers.

Note: The above rules may vary depending on the ColorOS version. Some rules may not be available on certain devices.

Manage blocking calls per SIM

Note: This option is only available on phones using dual SIM cards.

For dual SIM phones, while on the call blocking screen, you can tap SIM1 or SIM2 and customize the call blocking rules. 

Block messages

The Block messages feature will let you control the text and MMS messages you will receive.

  • For ColorOS 7.0 and above. Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Block & Filter] > [Block Messages], or go to the [Messages] app > Tap the 2-dots icon  in the upper right corner > [Block & Filter] > [Blocked Messages] > Tap the 2-dots icon  in the upper right corner > [Set Rules] > [Block Messages].

  • For ColorOS 6.1. Go to [Settings] > [System Apps] > [Messages] > [Block & Filter] > [Block Messages], or go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Block & Filter] > [Block Messages].

  • For ColorOS 5.1 to ColorOS 6.0. Go to [Settings] > [System Apps] > [Call] > [Block] > [Block Messages], or go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Anti-harassment/Fraud] > [Block Messages].

  • For ColorOS 5.0. Go to [Settings] > [Messages] > [Block] > [Block Messages], or go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Anti-harassment/Fraud] > [Block Messages].

  • For ColorOS 3.2. Go to [Settings] > [Messages] > [Block] > [Block Messages], or go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Anti-harassment/Fraud] > [Block Messages].

  • For ColorOS 3.1. Go to [Settings] > [Messages] > [Block] > [Block Messages], or go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Block] > [Block Messages].

  • For ColorOS 3.0. Go to [Settings] > [Messages] > [Block].

Set rules to block messages:

  • Keywords for Spam:Messages from unknown numbers containing particular keywords that you have set will be recognized as spam.

  • Block Messages from Unknown Numbers:All messages from unknown numbers that are not in your contact list will be blocked.

Note: When Block Messages from Unknown Messages are turned on, you might miss important verification text messages, as well as messages from people who you know, but are not on your contact list.

Block calls and messages

On your OPPO phone, go to the [Phone] app and tap the [three-dotted line] at the top right, then tap [Settings] > [Blocked numbers] and toggle [Unknown] to block calls from unidentified callers. 

* Alternatively, you can add a phone number to block calls from it by going to the [Phone] app and tapping the [three-dotted line] at the top right, then tap [Settings] > [Blocked numbers] > [ADD A PHONE NUMBER] and enter the phone number you want to block, then tap [Block].
