How to Add the Translate Tool in Smart Sidebar

The Smart Sidebar is one of the awesome features that is provided in ColorOS. The Smart Sidebar provides you quick access to your favourite apps and tools. You can use FlexDrop to launch any app into a floating window over any application or move it around the screen. A new feature has been added to the Smart Sidebar that can translate texts on your screen. You can now quickly translate texts when reading documents or chatting with foreign friends. Follow this article to learn how to add the translate tool in the smart sidebar.


Applicable to: ColorOS 11 and above. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone]/[About Device].


How to Add the Translate Tool

Make sure that the smart sidebar is enabled. You can enable it by going to [Settings] > [Convenience Tools]/[Special Feature] > [Smart Sidebar] > Enable [Smart Sidebar].

  1. Open the smart sidebar by sliding from the side.

  2. Tap the "" icon.

  3. Select "Screen Translate" and tap the "" icon to add it to the smart sidebar

How to Use Screen Translate

Open the smart sidebar and tap the "Screen Translate" icon to translate any text that appears on your screen.
