Say goodbye to losing your LTE connection every time you'd make a call or receive a call from someone because OPPO A74 5G is VoLTE abled. To know more about this, continue reading the simple guide we created below.

Note: Check your ColorOS version through [Settings] > [About phone]/[About device].

OPPO A74 5G and VoLTE

OPPO A74 5G supports VoLTE (Voice over LTE). This means you can still enjoy using third-party applications, such as mobile games, and navigation applications while actively using a high-speed data connection even when you're making a call.

OPPO's VoLTE (Voice over LTE) feature allows you to experience high-quality calls. However, the availability of this feature would depend mostly on the following factors:

  • Model of your OPPO phone.

  • Your location.

  • Your account with your carrier.

  • Some carriers support VoLTE only in certain cities or area codes. Contact your mobile network operator to ask about your area and account.

How to turn on the VoLTE feature on OPPO A74 5G

To enable your OPPO A74 5G's VoLTE, follow the presented steps:

  • For ColorOS 12 and above: [Settings] > [Mobile network] > choose a SIM card > enable [VoLTE calls].

  • For ColorOS 11 to 11.3: Go to your OPPO smartphone's [Settings] > then tap on [SIM card & mobile data] > choose a SIM card > activate [VoLTE Calls] by toggling the enable/disable button.

Enable VoLTE

If unable to make VoLTE calls

Please try the recommended solution below if you can't make VoLTE calls due to the following factors or issues.

Uninstall JioGVoice

If you are using Jio SIM, please uninstall Jio4GVoice/ JioCall application, if it is installed on your phone.

Use SIM slot 1

Use the VoLTE-enabled SIM card in Slot 1 because VoLTE works best in SIM slot 1.

Modify Preferred Network Type

Change the Preferred Network Type to 4G because VoLTE only works with 4G networks.

  • For ColorOS 12 and above: [Settings] > [Mobile network] > choose a SIM card > [Preferred network type] > choose [5G/4G/3G/2G (Auto)].

  • For ColorOS 11 to 11.3: Go to your OPPO smartphone's [Settings] > then tap on [SIM card & mobile date] > choose a SIM card > go to [Preferred network type] > choose [4G/3G/2G (Auto)].

Contact carrier service provider

  • When you try to turn on VoLTE, you might see a message that says "Cannot Activate LTE Calls. To enable LTE Calls on this account, contact your carrier." This may happen with some account types, including business lines, and on some carriers. To fix this, please contact your carrier service provider for help.

  • You might see a message that says to insert a new SIM card. This can happen with older SIM cards or micro-SIM cards that are cut down to the size of a nano-SIM card. You would need to replace your SIM card to use VoLTE. Visit the nearest carrier provider.

  • If call quality improves with VoLTE turned off, get help from your carrier.
