Cellular Data Drops After ColorOS Upgrade on OPPO Devices
🔍 What Users Are Experiencing
Commonly reported behaviors include:
Mobile data disconnects while signal bars remain visible
Apps are unable to access the internet until Airplane Mode is toggled
APN settings are resetting or becoming misconfigured after the update
LTE/5G reconnects only after a manual toggle or device restart
⚠️ Why This Happens After an Update
Major system upgrades can temporarily disrupt network configurations. In some cases:
Network and radio profiles fail to re-bind correctly
APN settings revert to default or conflict with carrier values
System services responsible for cellular connectivity become unstable
These issues are usually software-related and not caused by hardware faults.
🛠 Recommended Solutions
Try the following steps in order:
1️⃣ Verify APN Settings
Go to: [Settings] > [SIM & Network] > [Your carrier] > [Access Point Names]
Ensure the APN details match your carrier’s recommended settings
If unsure, select Reset to default or contact your carrier for the correct values
2️⃣ Reset Network Settings
Go to: [Settings] > [System] > [Reset Options] > [Reset Network Settings]
This will refresh all mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth configurations.
⚠️ Note: Saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings will be removed.
3️⃣ Toggle Airplane Mode
Turn Airplane Mode ON for 10–15 seconds, then turn it OFF.
This forces the device to re-register with the network.
4️⃣ Update System and Carrier Services
Go to [Settings] > [About Device] > [Software Update] and install any available updates
Open the Google Play Store and update Carrier Services, if available
📌 Important Note
If the issue started immediately after a system update, it is unlikely to be a hardware problem. In most cases, the cause is temporary software configuration drift following the upgrade.
