If you are trying to download an app, but the Play Store is not opening, there could be various reasons behind it. One possible reason is a poor network connection or incorrect date and time settings. To troubleshoot this issue, you can refer to this easy guide. We suggest trying these methods, but if the problem persists, do not hesitate to contact the Google Play Support team for further assistance.

Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].

Steps to fix the Play Store not launching

If you're having trouble opening the Google Play Store on your OPPO phone, try the troubleshooting steps below to fix the issue.

Check network connection

Make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. Try browsing any website to confirm.

Update the date and time

Google Play Services sync with their main servers to send and receive data. For this to work, the time and date on your device must be set accurately. See How to Set Up Date and Time on OPPO Phone.

Date and Time

Check if Download Manager is enabled

Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Application Management] > [All] > [Download Manager]. Once you enter Download Manager, tap [Enable] to enable the app. As you allow this Manager, it will start downloading apps from the Play Store. If it still does not work, you must delete or clear the data from the app.

Clear cache and data of Google Play and Google Services

Clear the cache and cookies on your OPPO phone per your phone's ColorOS version. See Clear Cache and Cookies in OPPO Phone for more.

Remove your Google account and log in again

If the issue still persists, try to remove and add your Google Account on your device by following the below steps:

  • For ColorOS 7 to ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Users & accounts] > [Google] > tap your primary Google account > tap the *[two-dot] / [three-dot] icon at the top right > [Remove account]. Open Play Store, and it will ask you to log in to your Google account again.

  • For ColorOS  6.1 and below: Go to [Settings] > [Accounts and sync] > [Google].

Note: *The icons may differ per OPPO phone model but still the same path. Please refer to the actual product.
